ILOILO CITY, March 23 -- The Department of Social Welfare and Development in Western Visayas (DSWD-6) has completed the distribution of PHP11.99 million in cash assistance under its emergency cash transfer (ECT) program to 1,162 tourism workers affected by Typhoon Tino.
DSWD 6 information officer Therese Fely Legaste, in a phone interview on Monday, said the affected workers were from 31 local government units in the region and were given assistance in partnership with the Department of Tourism (DOT).
"The DOT referred affected tourism workers to DSWD, which we assisted and provided with assistance," she said.
