Manila, March 14 -- The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) responded to a viral video showing a bedridden senior citizen being carried down a mountain using a carabao-drawn cart, clarifying that Field Office 2 (Cagayan Valley) and the local government unit (LGU) of Cabarroguis promptly reached out to the family to provide assistance.

In a statement on Saturday, Assistant Secretary Irene Dumlao of the DSWD's Disaster Response Management Group, noted that the department acted quickly to ensure the safety and welfare of Lolo Jaime.
