Manila, April 22 -- The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has approved a request for medical assistance for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in Laguna province, Governor Sol Aragones announced on Wednesday.

In a post on her official Facebook page, Aragones shared that DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian granted the request following their recent meeting.

"Here's my good news for you, our request has been approved!" she said in Filipino, adding that the program aims to bring relief and hope to parents facing daily challenges in caring for their children with ASD.
