LEGAZPI CITY, Oct. 22 -- The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) - Bicol Region has released PHP40.39 million in financial assistance to 4,205 dengue patients and bereaved families across the region's six provinces as of Oct. 19.

The agency provided the assistance through its Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program, covering medical assistance, cash relief, funeral assistance, and food assistance.

The agency distributed aid through 13 Crisis Intervention Section - AICS satellite offices and seven Malasakit Centers to help individuals and families manage expenses related to dengue-related illnesses and deaths.
