DAVAO CITY, Aug. 13 -- A total of 5,562 residents in Davao del Sur and Davao Occidental are receiving financial assistance under the Unified Package for Livelihoods, Industry, Food, and Transport (UPLIFT) program during a payout on Thursday, the Department of Social Welfare and Development-Davao (DSWD-11) said in a public post.

Of the number, 2,558 Group 2 beneficiaries came from Don Marcelino, Davao Occidental; 2,059 from Magsaysay, Davao del Sur; and 945 from this city.

Under the initiative, qualified recipients classified under Group 2 - comprising poor and near-poor households not currently enrolled in the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) - are entitled to monthly cash assistance of PHP2,000.
