Manila, April 15 -- The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has expedited the installation of a larger drainage system along Bonifacio Drive in Port Area, Manila to address the inconvenience caused by flooding to motorists and commuters passing through the area.

DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon said Wednesday that the width of the drainage pipes has been doubled from 0.6 meters to 1.2 meters to ensure that the flood subsides faster.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has ordered the completion of all ongoing drainage works in the National Capital Region by May.
