DPWH targets completion of Manila-Cavite Road repairs before 'Undas'
Manila, Sept. 2 -- The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is looking to finish the repairs on the dilapidated Manila-Cavite Road in Noveleta, Cavite before the "Undas" holidays (All Saints' and All Souls' Days) in November.
Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon made the remark during his second visit to the project site on Tuesday, the agency said in a news release on Wednesday.
"Hopefully, the weather will cooperate," he said.
Dizon noted that the project showed only 6 percent progress during his initial visit in July, but was nearly 50 percent complete during his recent visit.
"We have gone from 6 percent to nearly 50 percent. The President said this needs to be addressed. Our fellow citizens are suffering," he said.
