DPWH deploys personnel to clear Maharlika Highway in Maguindanao
Manila, July 10 -- The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has deployed maintenance personnel to clear the damaged section of the Maharlika Highway in Parang, Maguindanao del Norte.
In a social media post Friday, the DPWH in Region 12 (Soccsksargen) said the maintenance team will ensure the safety of motorists and pedestrians.
It reported that the flash flood caused the damage on layers of freshly-laid asphalt, which has not yet dried or is still in the curing period.
The DPWH assured that it will immediately resume full restoration works "under strict construction standards" once the weather clears, at no additional cost to the government.
