Manila, June 30 -- The Department of Transportation (DOTr) on Tuesday assured the continued service of the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) and the EDSA Busway amid a political protest staged by members of the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) that blocked several lanes of traffic on EDSA.

In a statement, DOTr Acting Secretary Giovanni Lopez assured commuters passing through EDSA that the busway remains operational despite some slowdown in traffic, and the MRT-3 is fully operational.
