Manila, March 24 -- The Department of Transportation (DOTr) on Tuesday announced the fuel subsidy amounts that drivers and operators of different public utility vehicles (PUV) will receive as part of the government's response to rising fuel prices.
In a Facebook post, the DOTr said there are 137,218 traditional jeepneys registered in the country, and their operators will receive PHP5,000 per unit, while their drivers will each receive PHP1,500.
There are 9,183 modern jeepneys in the country whose operators will receive PHP10,000 per unit, while drivers will each receive PHP1,500.
