DOT backs permanent tourism brand, safety council
Manila, Sept. 29 -- The Department of Tourism (DOT) on Monday backed institutionalizing a permanent national tourism brand while proposing a council to coordinate government action on safety and security concerns affecting visitors.
The two proposals surfaced during the Senate hearing on DOT's proposed 2027 budget as Senator Erwin Tulfo questioned the agency on frequent changes in tourism slogans and security problems that could undermine efforts to attract visitors.
Tulfo noted that Philippine tourism branding has changed repeatedly across administrations, citing campaigns such as "Wow Philippines," "It's More Fun in the Philippines" and the current "Love the Philippines."
