MANILA, May 29 -- The trough of Tropical Storm Domeng will cause scattered rains and thunderstorms across Eastern Visayas, Sorsogon, and Masbate, the weather bureau said Friday afternoon.

Flash floods or landslides are possible in those areas due to moderate to heavy rains.

Domeng maintained its strength, packing maximum sustained winds of 85 kph near the center, and gustiness of up to 105 kph.

As of 4 p.m., Domeng was located 1,120 km. east of Central Luzon, moving west-northwestward at 10 kph.

The cyclone is forecast to continue moving generally northwestward until Sunday, before recurving towards southern Japan.
