DOH specialized team going to quake-hit Sarangani
Manila, June 13 -- The Department of Health (DOH) on Saturday deployed a team of medical specialists to augment the emergency response teams in the earthquake-hit province of Sarangani.
In a statement, DOH Undersecretary Albert Domingo said the Philippine Emergency Medical Assistance Team (PEMAT) is expected to arrive in Glan, Sarangani by Sunday.
The team will be bringing a portable, gravity-powered ultrafiltration unit that can deliver thousands of liters of safe and clean drinking water daily without need for electricity or chemicals, and medicines including anti-diarrheal drugs.
