Manila, Sept. 22 -- Energy Secretary Sharon Garin said officials will review electricity prices to determine whether generation companies, or gencos, have made pricing errors amid the impact of current oil and power market conditions.

In an online briefing Tuesday, Garin said she has directed the Department of Energy's (DOE) Legal Services Bureau to write to the Philippine Competition Commission (PCC) and the Philippine Electricity Market Corporation (PEMC) to check the situation.

"We'll address the root cause of the problem through our policy measures for generation company accountability," she said in Filipino.
