Manila, Sept. 25 -- The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) has partnered with regional religious groups to strengthen its campaign against illegal recruitment and human trafficking.

DMW-CAR Regional Director Cherryl Daytec announced Thursday that the agency has signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with the Regional Ecumenical Council (RECCO), a coalition of non-Catholic churches with active migrant worker ministries.

"We offered partnership with them because they complement our programs to help OFWs [Overseas Filipino Workers] and they have ministries on migration," Daytec said during a regional press briefing.
