TACLOBAN CITY, June 22 -- The Department of Education (DepEd) has assured families of the victims of the shooting incident at San Jose National High School here of immediate assistance and continued support as the school community grapples with the tragedy.

In a statement on Monday, DepEd Tacloban Schools Division Superintendent Sherlita Palma expressed the agency's profound sorrow over the incident that killed three students and injured seven others. Both suspects have been arrested.

"We extend our heartfelt thoughts and prayers to the victims, their families, and the entire school community during this difficult time," Palma said.
