Manila, Sept. 7 -- Former Department of Education (DepEd) special disbursing officer (SDO) Edward Fajarda still failed to appear at Vice President Sara Z. Duterte's impeachment trial Monday due to his medical condition, but prosecutors secured a key stipulation that he gave PHP112.5 million in DepEd confidential funds to security officer Col. Dennis Nolasco upon Duterte's instruction.

Fajarda, who reportedly suffered a stroke and was unable to testify last week, was subpoenaed anew for Monday but was advised by his doctor to continue resting for another 30 days.

Rather than risk aggravating his condition, the prosecution sought stipulations on facts they intended to establish through Fajarda's testimony.
