Manila, April 21 -- The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has released about PHP63.49 billion to fund 1,743 infrastructure projects and construct 4,960 classrooms nationwide to accelerate public infrastructure development and improve access to basic education.

Of the PHP63.49 billion, about PHP46.22 billion was allocated to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) for infrastructure projects in 17 regions.

The DBM approved the issuance of 158 Special Allotment Release Orders (SAROs) for the infrastructure projects on April 15.

The funding will support road network expansion, bridge rehabilitation, preventive maintenance, and other priority works aimed at improving mobility and boosting economic activity.
