Manila, Sept. 5 -- More than 583,000 military and uniformed personnel (MUPs) would receive a 5 percent increase in their base pay, on top of the continued PHP350 daily subsistence allowance, as the government proposed additional funding under the 2027 national budget.

Under the 2027 National Expenditure Program (NEP), about PHP74.92 billion is allocated for the adjusted base pay of Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) personnel, while PHP100.55 billion is provided for Philippine National Police personnel.

The Department of Budget and Management (DBM), in a statement on Saturday, said the pay increase is part of the second tranche of the salary adjustments for MUPs through Executive Order 107, which takes effect on Jan. 1, 2027.
