Manila, Sept. 22 -- A public school in Mati City, Davao Oriental has recorded improvement in student participation and retention over the past four school years, crediting the turnaround to a transportation donation from a mining firm.

Data from Macambol National High School (MNHS) showed that its "School Performance Trend" report for School Years 2022-2026 reflected near-zero levels of tardiness and absenteeism, marking a significant shift for a school that once struggled with chronic absenteeism and high dropout rates.

The report revealed a 93.6 percent reduction in tardiness, from 12.50 percent in 2022-2023 to just 0.80 percent in 2025-2026.
