Manila, Sept. 8 -- The Philippine Army's 67th Infantry Battalion (67IB) has been deployed to the area of responsibility of the 601st Infantry Brigade(601Bde) in Maguindanao Del Sur as part of security preparations for the Sept. 14 Bangsamoro Parliamentary Elections (BPE).

Before the troop movement, the 67IB is stationed in Baganga, Davao Oriental.

The deployment was formally launched Tuesday during a send-off ceremony led by 601Bde commander Brig. Gen. Gremel Brual.

The soldiers will be positioned in various areas of concern in Maguindanao del Sur, particularly in the municipalities of Datu Piang, Shariff Aguak, and Ampatuan.
