Dagupan City, April 25 -- Around 20,000 pieces of bangus (milkfish) will be grilled and served during the street party for the Bangus Festival here on April 30.

In an interview Saturday, Mayor Belen Fernandez said over 1,000 one-meter long barbecue grills inclusive of five kilos of bangus, charcoal and drinks would be set up by participants during the street party.

Guest performers would also be on at least six stages along De Venecia Road Extension.

Fernandez said all preparations have been set in motion, including security.

"We now have more police personnel in the city, from 150 to over 450, and we will also ask for augmentation from the regional police and civic groups," she said.
