DA-11 intensifies imported rice price cap enforcement
DAVAO CITY, June 10 -- The Department of Agriculture in Davao Region (DA-11) has intensified enforcement of the PHP50-per-kilo price ceiling on imported rice following findings from a June 1 simultaneous inspection at Bankerohan Public Market, the agency said Wednesday.
Authorities mounted a massive monitoring operation to implement Executive Order 118, which imposes a nationwide temporary price ceiling on imported regular and well-milled rice (5 percent broken) for 30 days, subject to lifting upon recommendation of the National Price Coordinating Council (NPCC).
