Comelec warns public vs. fake e-mails
Manila, July 4 -- The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has warned the public against fraudulent e-mails pretending to be from the poll body.
In a public advisory on Friday, the poll body advised the public to be cautions against e-mails, particularly from the address, comelec.infoupdate@protonmail.com, and a certain individual posing as a Comelec staff.
"The public is strongly advised to exercise caution and vigilance regarding emails that appear to originate from the Commission on Elections and request(ing for) personal or sensitive information," it said.
