Comelec may extend voting hours for Cavite polls due to bad weather
Manila, Aug. 29 -- The Commission on Elections (Comelec) is looking at the possibility of extending the voting hours in the ongoing special polls for the 4th Legislative District of Cavite.
Comelec Chairperson George Garcia said they are ready to extend the voting period for several hours to be able to accommodate those who would like to participate in the special polls that will elect the new representative of Dasmarinas City in the House of Representatives.
"If the rain doesn't stop, voting hours could be extended - even just for a short while - to accommodate our fellow citizens who are hesitant to leave their homes due to the heavy rain," he said.
