Manila, Oct. 29 -- The Department of Education (DepEd) on Wednesday assured coordination with water service providers to sustain sufficient supply of water in schools despite the expected "very strong" El Nino.

In an interview, DepEd Secretary Sonny Angara said they have tapped the Maynilad water concessionaire to help advance water conservation measures nationwide.

"Yesterday, we met with Maynilad, may mga tip sila sa atin. Mayroon din silang literature na dini-distribute sa eskwelahan (they have tips for us. They also have literature being distributed in schools)," he said.

"Kaso nasa English, pinapa-translate namin (But it is in English, we are having it translated) for nationwide distribution."
