TACLOBAN CITY, July 23 -- The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) regional office here is eyeing to bring college learning to remote areas in Samar province by establishing satellite campuses in two island towns.

In a statement on Thursday, the Samar provincial government reported that officials conducted site visits and technical inspections in the island municipalities of Daram and Zumarraga, Samar, on July 22 as part of the implementation of Project SAMAR (Smart Access and Mobile Academic Resources).

The project is an initiative aimed at expanding access to higher education in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas in Samar province.
