Cayetano backs joint probe of Senate shooting
Manila, May 14 -- Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano on Thursday defended the ongoing joint investigation into the reported shooting incident inside the Senate building as conflicting narratives and online speculation continued to circulate following the security scare.
Cayetano said accusations and "conspiracy theories" had emerged from both sides after the May 13 incident, including claims that the government was behind the alleged attack and separate allegations targeting Senate security personnel.
"Since last night, when Sec. Jonvic came here, we've been hearing conspiracy theories from both sides," Cayetano said, referring to Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla.
