Manila, Feb. 26 -- Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) chief Director General Gregorio Pio Catapang Jr. on Thursday said his office will remain focused on implementing reforms despite false reports about his alleged imminent exit.

In a statement, Catapang said the fabricated reports suggesting his imminent replacement as chief of BuCor were "misinformation prompted by evil forces."

"Our focus remains on our goals and the positive impact we strive to make," he said.

Catapang said the commitment to fighting fake news and misinformation is essential in protecting not only the reputation of BuCor but also the integrity of public institutions at large.
