Manila, Sept. 11 -- Camarines Sur's Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) was placed on red alert on Friday due to the 2026 Penafrancia Festival and the heightened monitoring of African swine fever (ASF) and the air quality in the province.

PDRRMC chair, Camarines Sur Governor Luis Raymund Villafuerte Jr., said response clusters for law and order, search and rescue, health, environment, emergency telecom, and road clearing remain on standby.

For the Penafrancia Festival, local DRRMCs were directed to activate their 24/7 Emergency Operations Centers (EOC) until Sept. 21 and to ensure the availability of response personnel, communication equipment, and other necessary resources.
