Manila, Aug. 26 -- The Bureau of Customs (BOC) - Port of Subic has condemned and destroyed three 40-foot containers containing around 3,000 cases of assorted-brand cigarettes valued at PHP129.065 million.

In a statement Wednesday, the Port reported that the condemned cigarettes, which had been declared abandoned, were destroyed through shredding and pyrolysis in accordance with established disposal procedures.

The BOC said the three containers were part of the 10 containers of abandoned cigarettes identified for disposal, with a total estimated value of around PHP413 million.
