Manila, June 8 -- The Bureau of Customs (BOC) recorded a surplus of PHP9.315 billion after collecting a total of PHP406.365 billion from January to May 2026.

In a statement on Monday, the bureau reported that it has exceeded its PHP397.05 billion target collection for the period by 2.3 percent.

The figure also represents an increase of PHP24.629 billion, or 6.5 percent higher than the total collection recorded in the same period in 2025.

"The more than PHP9 billion surplus we recorded is proof that when we work together and do our jobs right, we can contribute significantly to the development of the country," said Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno.
