BOC intercepts P199-M worth of shabu, kush at NAIA
Manila, Sept. 11 -- The Bureau of Customs (BOC) on Friday announced the interception of illegal drugs worth PHP199.72 million contained in a shipment declared as "personal effects."
In a statement, the BOC - Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) said the shipment contained 28.3 kilograms of suspected shabu, 4.7 kilograms of suspected kush, and several towels and duvets soaked in suspected liquid marijuana.
The shipment, which arrived from Toronto, Canada, underwent intelligence profiling, X-ray examination and K-9 sweeping, which yielded positive indications of illegal drugs.
The BOC said further investigation is ongoing before charges are filed.
