LAOAG CITY, June 5 -- The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) in Ilocos Norte has reached its PHP259 million collection target for May, attributed partly to compliance among taxpayers, Revenue District Officer Esperanza Guzman said Friday.

"Thank you so much to our government agencies, private companies and individual taxpayers for paying their taxes. We were able to hit our collection goal of PHP259 million in May despite the fact that there are other NGAs (national government agencies) like DPWH (Department of Public Works and Highways) that have no remittance yet," Guzman said.
