BIR enforcement drive nets major seizures
Manila, Sept. 15 -- The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) said its month-long nationwide enforcement drive covering fuel, illicit vape products, sabong (cockfighting) operations and Cash Register Machine/Point-of-Sale (CRM/POS) compliance, yielded major seizures.
In a statement Tuesday, BIR said it inspected 11 cockpit arenas in Metro Manila and South Luzon and identified 297 machines and devices without a permit to use and not included in its records.
BIR also destroyed a total of 240,550 illicit vape with an estimated tax liability of PHP1.54 billion.
Fuel testing and marking operations were likewise conducted, covering 421 fuel stations nationwide.
