Legazpi City, June 8 -- The Police Regional Office in Bicol (PRO-5) has implemented heightened security measures to ensure a safe, orderly, and peaceful opening of School Year 2026-2027 for students, teachers and personnel on Monday.

PRO-5 Director Brig. Gen. Erosito Miranda said that as part of intensified preparations, police visibility was increased in schools, along major roads, at transportation terminals and in other crowded areas.

"This aims to immediately prevent any possible security threats and maintain order in the affected areas," he said in a statement.

Active traffic management operations were also conducted to ensure the smooth flow of vehicles, especially in school zones and along main thoroughfares.
