Manila, Sept. 10 -- The Baguio Water District (BWD) said its water sources have significantly recovered after weeks of heavy rain but urged residents and visitors to continue conserving water as the city heads into the peak tourism season and an expected El Nino.

BWD General Manager Salvador Royeca said the city's water sources had recovered by 92.04 percent as of Aug. 31, a significant improvement following sustained rainfall.

The recovery comes ahead of December, one of Baguio's busiest tourism periods, when water demand typically rises while the city enters drier months.
