Manila, Sept. 21 -- City government employees whose duties expose them to heightened risks would receive hazard pay in addition to their basic salaries and other benefits under a proposed ordinance.

City Councilor Leandro Yangot Jr. said Monday that the measure, which has passed second reading, would cover city-paid workers in permanent, temporary, casual, job order and contractual positions who have rendered at least one year of continuous government service.
