Manila, April 22 -- This highly urbanized city is starting preparations for the hosting of the Batang Pinoy 2026, with final dates set on Dec. 12 to 18.

In a statement on Wednesday, Mayor Greg Gasataya acknowledged the city government's strong collaboration with the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) in bringing the national sports event for athletes 17 years and below here.

"This milestone is a testament to our strengthened partnership with the PSC. We extend our sincere gratitude to Chairman Patrick Gregorio for his trust in Bacolod's vision and for his commitment to grassroots sports development," he said.

Gasataya said the Batang Pinoy 2026 will provide the platform for the city to further support homegrown talent.
