MANILA, June 1 -- The Philippine Army (PA) on Monday said all of its subordinate units have been tasked to help in this year's "Brigada Eskwela" which will run from June 1 to 5 nationwide.

"The PA already tasked its subordinate units to support the 'Brigada Eskwela' program. The Army's participation in this activity reflects its continuing commitment to service beyond security operations through meaningful community engagement," Army spokesperson Col. Louie Dema-ala told the Philippine News Agency.

Under the activity, PA troops will be helping education stakeholders in painting, repairing, cleaning and sanitizing school facilities and classrooms nationwide in preparation for school opening this coming June 8.
