SAN JOSE DE BUENAVISTA, Oct. 14 -- The Department of Agriculture (DA) is providing a one-time fuel subsidy to 1,164 newly registered rice farmers in Antique.

The subsidy is intended for farmers who were listed in the Registry System for Basic Sectors from June to September, DA Antique Provincial Coordinating Office head Sonie Guanco said in an interview on Friday.

Each qualified farmer is entitled to PHP5,000 that will be released through their intervention monitoring cards (IMC).

"There were farmers from the Municipality of Barbaza who claimed their PHP5,000 fuel subsidy through their IMC yesterday (Thursday)," Guanco said.
