Manila, Aug. 31 -- President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has ordered government offices in 15 provinces to implement appropriate alternative work arrangements on Tuesday amid continued heavy rainfall associated with the enhanced southwest monsoon (habagat).

Under Memorandum Circular No. 133 signed by Acting Executive Secretary Ralph G. Recto, the measure covers Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Abra, Benguet, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Apayao, Batanes, Nueva Vizcaya, Zambales, Tarlac, Pampanga and Bataan.

The directive was issued upon the recommendation of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council in anticipation of continued heavy rains that may cause urban flooding and traffic disruptions.
