Manila, Aug. 20 -- The municipal government of Polangui, Albay established the Municipal Safer School Zones Task Force on Thursday to help ensure a safe and secure environment for learners, teachers, and school communities.

In Executive Order (EO) 61, signed on Wednesday, Polangui Mayor Jesciel Richard Salceda stated that the task force complies with Department of the Interior and Local Government Memorandum Circular 2026-037, which mandates local government units to establish safer school zones using the S.A.F.E.R. framework.

S.A.F.E.R. stands for Survey and coordinate, Assign and deploy, Facilitate safe movement, Escalate urgent concerns, and Report and review.
