Manila, July 18 -- The Philippines defeated unheralded Myanmar, 25-21, 28-26, 25-22, Saturday to settle for fifth place in the SEA Men's V Cup at Candon City Arena in Ilocos Sur.

Louie Ramirez, who saw action at the 2025 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Cup, finished with 14 points on 11 attacks and three blocks for Alas Pilipinas, which went 0-2 in pool play.

Joshua Magalaman contributed 12 points, making it three straight matches with a double-figure in the tournament offering FIVB world ranking points.

Coach Angiolino Frigoni commended the team, assembled only two months ago, for a gritty performance under pressure.
