Manila, March 10 -- More than 94 percent of 1,272 drug-affected villages in Pangasinan province were cleared, with only 68 villages still affected by illegal drugs, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) here said Tuesday.
"We still have 5.34 percent affected. We are 94.66 percent drug-cleared," PDEA-Pangasinan provincial officer Dexter Asayco said in an interview, referring to drug-affected villages.
Pangasinan has a total of 1,364 barangays across its four cities and 44 towns.
Asayco said the remaining affected villages still have drug personalities under monitoring and need a Balay Silangan as a prerequisite for drug clearing.
