CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, July 20 -- The Department of Social Welfare and Development in Northern Mindanao (DSWD-10) started its three-day distribution of cash aid under the Unified Package for Livelihoods, Industry, Food, and Transport (UPLIFT) program to 6,854 city residents.

In an interview on Monday, DSWD-10 Information Officer Roshiel Galia said the beneficiaries were categorized into three groups, each of which can receive up to PHP2,000 monthly until December.

"The more than 6,000 beneficiaries receiving today belong to Group 2," she said, referring to residents assessed as poor and near-poor who are not members of any existing DSWD programs, such as the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) and the Walang Gutom Program.
