Manila, July 17 -- Five senior police officers, including the Philippine National Police (PNP) chief of the Directorate for Comptrollership, have been promoted to higher ranks.

Based on a July 16 memorandum, a copy of which was obtained by the Philippine News Agency (PNA) on Friday, Director for Comptrollership chief Brig. Gen. Dindo Reyes and PNP Academy director Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan received their second star following their promotion to major general.

The Directorate for Comptrollership will assist the Office of the Chief PNP in the administration and management of the police force's financial resources.
