48% of Filipinos hopeful of better living conditions - survey
Manila, Sept. 11 -- Nearly half, or 48 percent of Filipinos, are optimistic that their quality of life will improve in the next 12 months, a recent study by the Social Weather Survey (SWS) showed.
The pollster's June 20 to 29, 2026 survey also found that at least 31 percent of Filipinos expect their living conditions to stay the same, 8 percent said they will worsen, and 12 percent did not answer.
The survey firm said the resulting "net personal optimism" score was +40, classified as excellent.
"This is 17 points up from the high +23 in March 2026, and slightly above the 2025 average net personal optimism score of very high +39," it said.
