Manila, May 3 -- Thirty-one most wanted persons (MWPs) were nabbed in 24-hour operations, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said over the weekend.
In a news release, the PNP said operations started 8 a.m. on May 1 in Metro Manila, and the Ilocos, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Bicol, Western Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Northern Mindanao and Caraga regions, alongside duties for Labor Day-related events.
Among those arrested were suspects with pending arrest warrants for rape, murder, sexual assault, trafficking in persons, syndicated estafa, carnapping, robbery with homicide, and illegal drugs.
PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. said the results showed that police operations continue even under full deployment conditions.
