Manila, June 16 -- Three more fatalities from the magnitude 7.8 earthquake in Maasim, Sarangani are being confirmed, bringing the death toll to 68, the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) said on its Tuesday update.

In a message to reporters, OCD public information Diego Mariano broke down the number of deaths from the June 8 calamity as follows: 11 for Region 11 (Davao Region) and 57 for Region 12 (Soccskargen).

Mariano said the reported death toll for Region 11 included 10 in Davao Occidental and one in Davao del Sur.

Meanwhile, for Region 12, 33 deaths were reported in Sarangani, and 24 in South Cotabato.

All these numbers are still subject to change after validation, the OCD said.
